MDB5 version is based on a new major version of a framework. Because of changes in core code, switching to pure JavaScript and implementing a completely new design (MD 2.0) we had to develop the package from scratch.

As was the case with MDB3 switching to MDB4, and developing different UI Kits for Angular, React and Vue, we released the new UI Kit as a new product - we had to engage more developers so there's also a new team behind it.
