Topic: MDB component name prefixes
mpcooke4 pro asked 5 years ago
This isn't urgent as nothing is broken but I was just wondering about the fact that react MDB components are now available with the MDB prefix. I presume this is an attempt to namespace to avoid clashes.
Is there any other difference between the prefixed versions and the older versions and is it safe to mix prefixed and non prefixed versions or is it better to upgrade everything to the prefixed versions at once? Is it the same code underneath or are the older versions no longer being updated?
I have a feeling I missed an email or webpage that might have explained the MDB prefixing of react compontents, if so, sorry and please do point me at that!

Hi,
Your presumptions are right, we are introducing successively all the components with MDB prefix from a few months. But actually, there is no difference between prefixed and non-prefixed versions, it is just an extended namespace, so you can mix them for now.
But we wish to instill in our users the manner to use only MDB prefixed components because in the future we will remove the non-prefixed namespace. This is meant as a long process, so there isn't any official information yet.
Hope this will dispell your doubts.
Best,
Jakub
