Topic: mdb-select broken - Windows Chrome 73.0.3683.75
coreystinson2 pro asked 5 years ago
Version: MDB PRO 4.5.9
https://chromereleases.googleblog.com/2019/03/stable-channel-update-for-desktop_12.htmlChrome 73.0.3683.75 release has broken mdb-select elements.
Behaviour can be tested using documentation: https://mdbootstrap.com/docs/jquery/forms/select/ on Windows chrome latest release.
mouse-down event opens the options menu, mouse-up event immediately closes the options menu. Any click events after the initial event when the element appears to be "Not working" from user perspective works as expected.
Can confirm prior releases of Chrome (ie 72.0xx) work without problems.Suspected change with latest release of chrome has introduced this error.

Datepicker is also exhibiting bad behaviour: https://mdbootstrap.com/docs/jquery/forms/date-picker/ On click event the date "modal" flickers before opening correctly, not identical behaviour as mdb-select element as datepicker does open and stay open after the flicker.
Problem was also introduced with Chrome version 73.0.3683.75.

Yes we know that problem, we already fixed this in our package. It will be released on Monday. Are you want a solution now?

Thank you for acknowledging. And no thanks, I'm happy to wait for the release of your new package. Would you please drop me a quick comment here when this is available for download, as I'm not sure what timezones we're both in.
Cheers

Hello, we are using the Pro version with npm. We just tried to pull the latest version from gitlab using npm and it is still the previous 4.7.4 version with this bug. Could you please inform the team to update the gitlab version? Thank you. We tried and it still installed the 4.7.4 version.
npm install mdbootstrap-pro
Piotr Glejzer staff commented 5 years ago
We fixed this bug with 4.7.5 version. Version 4.7.4 doesn't contain solution to chrome 73.

Hi yes, we know that, just that the gitlab version for MDB Pro was still 4.7.4 a day ago. However, I just checked and it is updated to 4.7.5 now. Thanks!

Bummer, just tried to use npm update mdbootstrap-pro but it is still version 4.7.4, even though on gitlab repo it is showing 4.7.5 (for JQuery version). Any idea when will 4.7.5 be available via npm update?
coreystinson2 pro commented 5 years ago
mdb.js is still reading version 4.7.4 even in the downloaded 4.7.5 package file directly from this website.

Screencast available here: https://youtu.be/bKym1ml_W54
Mouse clicks sounds are important as they highlight mousedown / mouseup events and how behaviour works with those. Chrome version 73.0.3683.75 is important as no other version on any OS here inhibit the behaviour.

I've just checked this and I can't see any issues. Could you please record a screencast of this issue?

My problem is specifically with "Select with search box". In Chrome, clicking the input closes the menu. Unable to get the cursor to the input. Can still choose existing items. In IE, the page jumps to the top. Again, unable to click into or type in the input.
