Topic: Upgrade from MDB 4.8.5-free to 4.8.6-pro

sundance free asked 5 years ago

Hi,

I started with MDB 4.8.5-Free, but already bought 4.8.6-Pro. First (and less) problem, that I am not able to modify user settings, I mean to change "User: Free" to "User: Pro" and select correct MDB version.

Unfortunatelly Pro version does not work correctly.

I build up Admin dashboard" demo step by step, followed instructions, but nor SlideNav, nor Tooltips, nor mdb-select, nor Date-Pickers, nor MinChart works.

Only working componets is CascadeCard.

I tried SlideBar demo https://mdbootstrap.com/snippets/jquery/mdbootstrap/670836?view=project#html-tab-view but changing background color does not work.

I copied "Slim Side Nav" snippet (https://mdbootstrap.com/snippets/jquery/mdbootstrap/670810), I only changed path of components according my folder structure, but it is not possible to change state (open and close) with buttons or "Minimize menu" link. The only way inserting or removing "fixed" from class.

<head>
  <meta charset="utf-8">
  <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1, shrink-to-fit=no">
  <meta http-equiv="x-ua-compatible" content="ie=edge">
  <title>Material Design Bootstrap</title>
  <!-- Font Awesome -->
  <link rel="stylesheet" href="https://use.fontawesome.com/releases/v5.8.2/css/all.css">
  <!-- Bootstrap core CSS -->
  <link href="../mdb486/css/bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet">
  <!-- Material Design Bootstrap -->
  <link href="../mdb486/css/mdb.min.css" rel="stylesheet">
  <!-- Your custom styles (optional) -->
  <link href="../mdb486/css/style.css" rel="stylesheet">
</head>
<body>
   ....
  <script type="text/javascript" src="../mdb486/js/jquery-3.4.1.min.js"></script>
  <!-- Bootstrap tooltips -->
  <script type="text/javascript" src="../mdb486/js/popper.min.js"></script>
  <!-- Bootstrap core JavaScript -->
  <script type="text/javascript" src="../mdb486/js/bootstrap.min.js"></script>
  <!-- MDB core JavaScript -->
  <script type="text/javascript" src="../mdb486/js/mdb.min.js"></script>
 <script>
    // SideNav Button Initialization
    $(".button-collapse").sideNav();
    // SideNav Scrollbar Initialization
    var sideNavScrollbar = document.querySelector('.custom-scrollbar');
    var ps = new PerfectScrollbar(sideNavScrollbar);
  </script>
 </body>
</html>

Expected behavior like in Tutorials and Samples.

Actual behavior it is not possible to change state of side bar (open and close) with button or "Minimize menu" link. The only way inserting or removing "fixed" from class.

Hi sundance,

We are sorry that this situation occurs. Mdb 4.8.6 min.js file was shipped with a major issue. Please upgrade to 4.8.7 and everything should work fine.

If you need additional help I am here for you.

Best Regards, Piotr

I copied packages in different folders. In my "webroot" I created two folders, one for FREE version (folder named mdb485) and an other one for PRO (I named the folder as mdb486). So in php/html code I just changed from

<script type="text/javascript" src="../mdb485/js/mdb.min.js"></script>

(file size 212 151) to

src="../mdb486/js/mdb.min.js"

(file size 829 319). So theoretically it should work, practically it does not.

I am not sure, if I can help you, but after moving from FREE to PRO version I have to update mdb.min.css and mdb.min.js files. Please, check the file size in official distribution package with packages in your project.

Please insert min. 20 characters.
