Topic: Multi-level sidebar navigation
bradwhosupnow-com free asked 6 years ago
Trying to replace an older jquery menu with mdb bootstrap sidebar navigation. Old menu uses multiple levels up to 4 deep. Example:
Main Menu Item 1
Main Menu Item 2
Sub Menu 1
Sub Menu 2
Sub Sub Menu 1
Sub Menu 3
Sub Sub Menu 2
Sub Sub Sub Menu 1
Main Menu Item 3
When I try to do this with MDB sidebar navigation it doesn't work. There are a couple of posts with examples using nested <div class="collapsible-body">. Although these technically work, it causes extra spacing to be added above the sub menu items that looks bad. I notice none of your online examples have more than 2 levels of menu items. Is the sidebar nave really limited to just 1 level of sub menus?

Currently, there's no way to do that

I was able to get it mostly working by doing some custom CSS. The only thing that didn't work was the rotating arrow icon indicating whether a sub-menu was open or close. For now, I have coded some CSS to have it static.

Judging from some of the other comments on the forum, I'm not the only one who wants a multi-level left nav. That would be a good feature to add next.
