*_Expected behavior_*

When one types in the input field, an autocomplete list displays, and a clear button (X) displays at the right to clear the field.

*_Actual behavior_*

When one types in the input field, no autocomplete list displays, and no clear button (X) displays at the right to clear the field.

But it doesn't work at my sandbox: Same Autocomplete Example Doesn't Work

What am I missing?

UPDATE: It's not working in the latest version of Chrome, but does work in Firefox and Edge.
