SideNav is visible when page loads

The sidenav component is visible and then immediate hides when the page loads. How can I make it hiden from start so that I do not see it hiding on pageload?

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried a combination of both. Did not work. It is very disturbing to see the menu hide on each pageload. Do you have any other suggestions?

This is how it looks like now:

Also, is it possible to make the sidenav push the content (routeroutlet) to the side when it is displayed? Now it floats on top of the content. How would I achieve this?

We will take a closer look with the problem with sidenav blink. Unfortunately we don't have sidenav that pushes the content in our package.
