Topic: Installing MDB Pro for Hybrid Angular Applications

Shubhojyoti Ganguly free asked 3 years ago

Expected behavior Unable to find mdb-calendar.tar.gz in downloaded file.

Actual behavior As per the documentation mdb-calendar.tar.gz should be there in the downloaded file

Resources (screenshots, code snippets etc.)

We are using a downgraded Angular application as described here: https://angular.io/guide/upgrade#using-angular-components-from-angularjs-code

The code architecture like does not use a SCSS preprocessor. Please let me know how to setup mdb-pro in this setup.

@Shubhojyoti Ganguly Can you provide more information about the problem with the Calendar package? Which file did you download?

Our library is designed to be used in the new Angular version (currently Angular 12 if you use the latest version of MDB), we don't support AngularJS.

I downloaded the MDB4-ANGULAR-UI-KIT-Pro-Essential-12.0 and MDB5-ANGULAR-UI-KIT-Pro-Essential-1.0 but I did not find the mdb-calendar.tar.gz in any of them.

We are currently using Angular12 within AngularJS application as described in the documentation attached above. We intend to use the Angular 12 component itself but this setup does not support a styles.scss bootstrapped to the root of the application.

@Shubhojyoti Ganguly I'm afraid there is not much we can do on our end in this case. If you don't use Angular CLI for the application build/development, you need to use other tools to compile MDB styles to CSS.

Essential package does not give you access to the plugins, for that you need MDB Advanced (advanced version is not available yet for MDB5 Angular).

@Arkadiusz Idzikowski I just wanted to use only the calendar component in my project. https://mdbootstrap.com/plugins/angular/full-calendar/#docsTabsAPI This documentation just said I needed MDB Pro for the calendar plugin and redirects to the plans page. There was no way for me to know that an advanced package is needed.

Is there any way you can reverse back my purchase of the essential package or upgrade me to the advanced package ?

@Shubhojyoti Ganguly Calendar plugin is using MDB and Bootstrap styles under the hood, in this case, you will still need to load our CSS in your application.

Someone from our team will contact you regarding the license problem.

@Arkadiusz Idzikowski We can use gulp JS in your webpack to precompile SCSS to CSS but it will require some setup and workarounds.

If you can resolve the license issue, we can at least try it out
